Mumbai: The music of Dharmendra’s home production “Yamla Pagla Deewana” has a heavy dose of Punjabi flavor. This was expected as the film stars father-sons trio Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby.

The film has 12 tracks and its music has been composed by multiple composers. The film opens with the rearranged and revised version of the original track “Main jat yamla pagla deewana” from the 1975 Dharmendra starrer “Pratiggya”.
Sonu Nigam has done complete justice to the title track. Nindy Kaur joins him along with additional sounds and lyrics by RDB. It also has a remix version titled house mix. Next is a song that has four versions.
The original version of the song “Charha de” has been sung by Mahalakshmi Iyer, Shweta Pandit and Rahul Seth. This is a Punjabi folk. In the second version Rahat Fateh Ali Khan replaces Rahul Seth while the female singers remain the same.
A solo version of the song is sung by Ali Parvez Mehdi. This is a slow number with no music. The entire song is based on vocals. The final version is again a solo by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
Next is a fast-paced rural number in fact an item number titled “Tinku jiya” composed by Anu Malik and sung by Javed Ali and Mamta Sharma. “Sau Bar” is a soft, typical love song composed by Sandesh Sandilya and sung by Omar Nadeem and Shreya Ghosal.
Next is an item number “Chamki Jawani” composed by Anu Malik and sung by Master Salim, Daler Mehndi and Mamta Sharma. The music album of this film is full of item numbers. “Son titariya” composed by Rahul Seth and crooned by Krishna Beura.
This fast-paced song has a complete rustic feel, full of whistles. The album concludes with a song titled “Gurbani” composed by Sanjoy Chowdhury and sung by Shahid Mallya. On the whole the album is a good one and is apt for the film.
