Diwali SMSes gained the most popularity in 2010

Mumbai: New Year’s Eve messages have become obsolete with Friendship Day and Valentine’s Day SMSes gaining more popularity.

As per a survey conducted by Airtel Mobitude 2010, it was found that it was Diwali messages that gained maximum popularity in 2010 followed by Dusshera and Friendship Day.
A maximum number of 12 million messages were sent this year on the occasion of Diwali. Last year it was New Year messages that were at the top.
Mr Atul Bindal, President – Mobile Services, Bharti airtel stated “Today, people across India are increasingly relying on the mobile platform as their source of entertainment and information from songs, videos, wallpapers to applications.”
